Clinical supervision at Tay Psychology

We offer Clinical Supervision in person and online to therapists and psychologists in Scotland and across the UK.

What is Clinical Supervision?

Clinical supervision is a vital component of professional practice in psychology, serving as a structured and formal process for developing knowledge and competence. This collaborative relationship between a supervisor and supervisee focuses on enhancing the supervisee’s skills in therapeutic practice while ensuring client welfare and adherence to ethical standards.
Typically, supervision involves sessions where cases are discussed in detail, allowing the supervisee to gain insight and feedback on their therapeutic techniques and client management strategies. Additionally, clinical supervision provides a space for supervisees to explore personal reactions, ethical dilemmas, and challenges encountered in their work.

Online Benefits of Clinical Supervision

Clinical supervision provides a multitude of benefits that extend to supervisees, it is an invaluable resource for personal and professional growth. Through the reflective practice encouraged in supervision, clinicians can improve their therapeutic skills, enhance their understanding of clients difficulties, and develop stronger decision-making abilities. This continuous professional development is crucial for maintaining high standards of client care and adapting to new challenges in the field of therapy.

How Our Supervision Works

At Tay Psychology, clinical supervision is tailored to meet the unique needs of each supervisee while upholding the highest standards of psychological care. Our approach is integrative, combining elements from various supervision models to suit the specific circumstances and developmental stage of the supervisee. This ensures that each session is supportive, facilitating personal growth and professional development in a manner that respects the individual’s learning style and pace.

For those interested in beginning supervision, please check the information provided by each of our psychologists to see who may be a good fit for you in terms of experience and therapeutic modalities. We can then facilitate a brief call with your supervisor of choice to ensure they are the right fit for you prior to your initial supervision session. If you’re not sure who may be a good fit, please get in touch and we’ll endeavour to help.
