Psychological therapy is tailored to the specific needs and goals of the individual and can be conducted in individual, couples, or family settings.
At Tay Psychology, we offer psychological therapy both in clinic at various locations and remotely (online/telephone).

The Therapy Process
Starting with Tay Psychology begins with telling us a little about what you’re looking for, either through our enquiry form or by email. Once we’ve received this, we’ll get back to you to offer either a complimentary 20-minute telephone consultation or an initial assessment appointment with one of our psychologists.
The complimentary consultation gives us an opportunity to better understand your current situation, as well as giving you space to ask any questions or raise any concerns you may have. We want you to feel comfortable and supported from the very beginning, and this initial contact helps us think together about whether we are the right fit for your needs. If we feel another service or approach may be more appropriate, we will always do our best to guide you toward alternative sources of support.
If you decide to proceed with us, you’ll receive confirmation of your appointment along with all relevant details, including location, time, and any practical information you may need.
Your first session is an opportunity to explore your experiences and current difficulties in more depth, while beginning to think together about your goals for therapy. From there, you and your psychologist will develop a shared understanding of what may be contributing to your difficulties and how therapy can best support you moving forward.
As therapy progresses, sessions will be tailored to your individual needs and circumstances. The frequency and focus of appointments will remain flexible and collaborative, guided by both your goals and the clinical expertise of your psychologist.
Our aim is to make the process of starting therapy feel as clear, supportive, and reassuring as possible, so that you feel informed and cared for at every stage.

Online Therapy Options
In our commitment to making psychological support as accessible to everyone as possible, Tay Psychology is able to offer online therapy sessions. This approach allows us to extend our therapeutic services across the United Kingdom, ensuring that distance and travel constraints do not hinder anyone from receiving the help they need.
Choosing online therapy brings a wealth of benefits tailored to fit seamlessly into your life. One of the most significant advantages is the convenience it offers; there's no need to travel, which not only saves time but also allows you to engage in therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own home. This setting can often feel more relaxed and conducive to open conversation, making it an excellent option for many.
Moreover, extensive research has shown that the effectiveness of therapy remains consistent whether it is conducted face-to-face or online. This assurance means that opting for online sessions does not compromise the quality of care you receive. Ultimately, the choice between online and in-person therapy depends on your personal preference.
